Recently, Yanni Hufnagel joined the Nevada Wolf Pack to coach together with coach Eric Musselman. This is a successful transition for the thirty-year-old Jewish man who hails from Scarsdale, New York. His passion for coaching began when he was a young boy. He read each publication on coaching while using basketball collectibles in assimilating the moves described in the books that he read.
Yanni’s Career and Education Background
Yanni Hufnagel began his career as a sports broadcaster for the public TV station in his town, and his broadcasting partner noted that one day, Mr. Hufnagel would become a coach or sports announcer. He joined Cornell University to pursue a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and became a basketball manager in his first year. He was lucky to work with the New Jersey Nets during his summer internship, and after graduating in 2006, Yanni got the dream opportunity of serving as the graduate assistant coach of the team in Oklahoma.
In 2009, Yanni’s boss, coach Capel recommended him to the head coach at Harvard where Yanni worked as a volunteer assistant coach. Being an excellent recruiter, he immediately began recruiting players when he was offered the unpaid volunteer job. He has also worked at Vanderbilt Commodores, Team USA Youth, and at the University of California, Berkeley. These positions held have made Yanni Hufnagel to gain an excellent reputation in the world of basketball. He graduated in 2010 with a Masters Degree in Adult Education and specialized on Intercollegiate Athletic Administration at Oklahoma.
