During the 2016 Presidential election cycle the return of George Soros to making major donations to Democratic candidates was seen as a sign of the importance of the year in U.S. history. Soros had largely sat out the 2008 and 2012 campaigns, but had looked to extend his 25 year political relationship with former First Lady Hillary Clinton with an estimated $25 million in funding for the candidate and her Super PAC’s; Hillary Clinton had provided George Soros with an open door to discuss policy for the future as she moved forward in her election battle with Republican Donald Trump.

The founder of the Open Society Foundations believes he is in a position to assist the Democrat’s and help the party protect the legacy of President Barrack Obama as they fight to regain power in Washington D.C.
